What I Think About Cloning

Many people think that cloning is an easy process that helps create an exact replica of themselves. However, they are wrong. Cloning isn't an easy process. Scientists have to go through a rigorous proceedure that includes extracting the embryo from a pregnant woman then also extracting the DNA produced in that embryo. After that they insert the DNA of the person who chooses to be cloned, they put the embryo back into the woman and let her go through her pregnancy.
Another misconception of cloning is that many poeple think that because a person is cloned it's going to be the exact same way as the original. That's not true because even though the clone will have the same DNA it is still it's own person. It will grow up with probably a different family or may go to a different school, so the traits of the clone will be original. The only thing that would be the same is the features.
Now knowing a lot of stuff about cloning, I don't think it's such a good idea. Well, as far as cloning people, I think it's a bad idea. When I read an article of a cloning organization that cloned cats and dogs it stated that 15% of the dogs that are born only live somewhere around 3 weeks to 2 months. After reading that I imagined how cloning for humans would be. The risk of people dying at such a short amount of time really changed my decision of thinking cloning was okay. I remember I was asked a question about if my sister were to die, would I want to clone her. At first I thought yes because I know it would be hard for me to live with the fact that the closest person to me died. But after reading more about cloning I realized that the clone of my sister would have a completely different personality and would also undergo the fact that she won't live as long as my sister. So then that would be two deaths and that would hurt me even more than just the one death of my biological sister. Now that my knowledge of cloning is now up to date, I believe that we should just stick to normal births and the only things that should be cloned are needed organs.
